What does buying weed at a grocery store look like?
You’ll be able to add pot to your grocery list, but won’t be able to choose your bud the way you do apples. Instead, marijuana will only be available for over the counter purchases according to Catherine Thomas. “…in small, existing tobacco shops, adjacent but separate to our Dominion grocery stores,” Thomas wrote in an emailed statement. Loblaw said that providing access to medicinal marijuana is their main focus. However, their CEO recently mentioned that they may become involved with recreational pot as well.
Some Pot Products are Already Available
There is absolutely no denying the immense amount of therapeutic benefits that cannabis has. And so for this reason, some cannabis products are actually already available to be purchased at your local grocery store. Cannabis is bred into two varieties: hemp and marijuana. Hemp contains very little or no THC at all. This means it has no psychoactive properties and can’t get you high. So don’t worry about getting stoned when consuming hemp oil or hemp seeds. Why might you want to consider adding hemp hearts or other hemp products on your grocery list? Hemp is an excellent source of essential fatty acids including Omega 3 and 6. It’s also a very easily digestible protein that is an absolute staple for vegan and vegetarian diets. Additional hemp information can be found here
